While traditional lab-based VO2 and metabolic testing offered valuable data, it lacked flexibility and sport specific testing. Athletes often have tight travel and training schedules leading to limited testing frequency. Continuum HP needed a portable, validated metabolic tool that could deliver lab-quality data in real-world conditions.
Solution
In 2025, Continuum HP integrated the VO2 Master Analyzer into its general intake testing and some return to play testing protocols.
Using VO2 Master’s portability and Bluetooth integration, Andrew Hauser and Alex Hubelbank began conducting VO2 max, RMR, and real-time zone testing and profiling directly within their training facility.
Implementation
- Population: MLB, NFL, NHL, MLS, NBA, pro track & field, tennis and boxing athletes and high-performance clients
- Testing Protocols:
- VO2 max and submaximal assessments for energy system profiling
- RMR testing for caloric information, goal ingestion and preventing under fueling
- Portable on-field zone identification (Zone 2–5)
- Integration: Data synced with heart rate monitors and Moxy monitors with live feedback and instant summary reports.
