About Brock Hoel

Born in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, Brock Hoel grew up in Alberta where he engaged in competitive swimming, hockey, and cross-country running.

His triathlon journey began at a young age, spurred by his exposure to the World Triathlon Championship Series in 2012. This early interest led him to focus intensively on improving his swimming and running, laying the groundwork for his future in triathlon.

Brock’s move to Kelowna, British Columbia, in 2014 marked a significant turning point for his career, providing him with better opportunities to pursue triathlon more seriously. Under the guidance of coach Luke Way at Balance Point Racing, he dedicated himself to rigorous training regimes, often spending 15 to 45 hours per week in training while completing high school.

This hard work began to pay off notably in 2019 when Brock won his first international race at the CAMTRI Triathlon American Championships in Monterrey and achieved top junior male at the National Championships, along with a commendable seventh-place finish at the Junior World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.

However, Hoel’s accomplishments extend far beyond these highlights. He has shown remarkable tenacity and progression throughout his career, transitioning from youth elite competitions to junior and then elite levels, each time making his mark with significant achievements.

Today, Brock is pursuing a spot on Team Canada with aspirations of chasing Olympic Gold in triathlon at the Olympic Games in Paris in July 2024.
