Electrical / Embedded Systems Engineer

Located in Vernon, BC, VO2 Master researches, manufactures, and sells the world’s first truly portable metabolic analyzer that makes athletes faster and improves weight development for everyone. We are seeking an experienced embedded system engineer to grow our development team. The successful applicant will work extensively in developing firmware, including implementing new hardware, writing unit tests, and validating test sets on our three lung simulators, in the wind tunnel, and even on human subjects. VO2 Master Analyzer consists of five circuit boards, many 3D-printed plastic parts all manufactured in-house, a Bluetooth connection to a phone app, and a complex code base requiring extensive algorithm testing and validation across a broad range of breathing inputs and environmental conditions. Understanding how these components work in unison is crucial in developing future product iterations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop C-based firmware solutions based on requirements, proven by extensive unit testing and validation
  • Design and execute engineering experiments to create workable solutions
  • Develop engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports
  • Complete required technical and regulatory documents
  • Ensure projects are completed on-time and within the specified budget
  • Present analysis results and project solutions to the technical lead

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechatronic
  • C coding experience
  • Experience building things that include mechanical, electrical, and coding aspects.

Nice-To-Haves

  • 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • Circuit design and prototyping experience
  • C#/WPF coding experience
  • Previous experience developing wearable / health technology
  • Hobbyist experience in any kind of nerdy personal projects
